Art is the theme and so much sharing happened between BOXspace_art in a box in an alley, BAF (Burrard Arts Foundation), artist studio visits, Michael Audain awards dinner and now the MNY (Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas) book launch. It’s hard to know where to start.
Well since this goes live today it might be a place to start… https://www.westernliving.ca/Vote-for-Western-Livings-2021-Home-of-the-Year That link takes you to the Westernliving site that lets you vote on the Home of the Year; what a privilege to be a finalist for Project851. I hope for Marianne’s sake she wins as she and her team are so deserving of the recognition. It is an honour to be selected among the finalists so let the votes determine the big win. Fun all around.
Speaking of fun and a pleasure to work with that has to go strong and loud when working with Connie Sabo. Over the last 10 years or so I’ve worked with Connie on making the 20th Eastside Culture Crawl party happen, Chair and co-chairing the organization, working on prints at the Big Print Projects of C3 and so forth so it was a no brainer to ask Connie to do the first BOXspace — art in a box in an alley. I’d say it was a great success installation and viewing wise over the 4 days of the Crawl. We also did a Finnisage that brought people together with art chatter and a last chance to talk art, ask the artist any questions and have a last viewing.
Here are some photos :
That’s just a taste of the happening with BOXspace. (feel free to follow and/or tell others to on instagram @boxspace_artinaboxinanalley. More to come.
Off to decide what to wear for the MNY book launch tomorrow. Hope to see you there!
